Bonfire Night is November 5th. In the UK they have this poem which explains the celebration:
“Remember, remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason, why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.”
While in the US there aren’t many who observe Guy Fawkes, many have experienced bonfires. Bonfires = celebrations.
Bonfires makes me think of campfires and fireplaces. Gathering around for the warmth, fires can be a place to unite a family, community, a variety of ages. Fires can be a place to join in song.
Grab you marshmallows, a guitar (if you have one) and sit around the fire (real or virtual). Unite the ages in song!

I LOVE bonfires…they are so festive and I love the feeling of the nigth being so mysterious right out of our sight!
Bonfires are festive. I’d love to hear what you enjoy doing around them – something favorite to celebrate, what you do, ….
I love bonfires, too! I got to celebrate Guy Fawkes Day in England when I was on my semester abroad, and it was very fun. These days, I’ve been around more campfires than bonfires, though.
Sounds like you had a great experience in England, Rachelle. I’d love to hear more about you Guy Fawkes Day experience.
