Two of the assisted living facilities I visit have a world music theme this month. As St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, I’ll be leaning more that direction. Never the less, I’m sharing some of my ideas which may assist you in planning a similar group event.
Opening: Fungai Alafia (with movements)
Warm-up song: Faraway Places – Discuss places the participants have visited. Question what was similar and what was different.
Transition: Side by Side as hand out percussion.
Groove: “Where in the world?” [soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/38775833″ iframe=”true” /]
Transition: Swinging Along the Open Road as gather equipment
