During November & early December, I am sharing a farm theme in my intergenerational group. Living in a rural area, many of the assisted living residents have lived on a farm. Most of the children are familiar with farms. We are having a grand time. Here is some of the material we are using.
- Barn Dance : Sing it to a modified version of “Turkey in the Straw“.
- Farmyard Beat by Lindsey Craig read in rhythm.
- Moo, Moo, Brown Cow, Have You Any Milk? by Phillis Gershator (Sung to “Baa, Baa Black Sheep”)
- The Chicken Dance
- I Know A Chicken
- “Come to the Farm” and “There Was an Old Woman & She Had a Little Pig” from Lynn Kleiner’s Kid’s Make Music, Babies Make Music, Too!
- The Farmer in the Dell
- Pony Boy
We also sang a variety of partner songs found on various websites.
