Upcoming classes:
Little Music Sparks… is a way to explore music and movement with your child. We’ll sing, play instruments, and dance in a social and fun learning environment.
For ages: 8 months through age 2 with an adult
Cost per session $28. Minimum of 3, Maximum of 5. Enroll through the Hays Recreation Commission.
Place: Hays Recreation Center

Music Sparks: Sharing Songs
Come appreciate and explore music with the support of senior adults. This is a GREAT class for family groups. Through singing, moving and playing instruments, participants will learn basic musical and developmental concepts all while having fun and socializing with their peers, caregivers, and seniors. Caregivers are encouraged to participate in the music making process.
Ages: 18 months through age 5 with an adult
Cost per session $32 per child. Minimum of 4, Maximum of 8. Enroll through the Hays Recreation Commission.
Place: Cedar View Assisted Living
Time 10:30-11:10 AM Mondays
Session 2 (The Great Outdoors) June 4, 11, 18, 25, July 2
- Bugs, snakes, bears, hiking and more will be covered in our songs and dances during this fun summer session!
Families in Rhythm (F.I.R)
Come join for rhymes, singing, drumming and moving with the great folks of Sterling House. This group is great fun for the WHOLE family age 3 – 99. Don’t have a family member to join you? No problem, come be part of our rhythm family. Join us for one or more of these great hours of fun! All percussion equipment will be provided. Sign up for one or more sessions!
Cost: $8 for first person, $5 for each additional family member. (Children under age 10 need an enrolled adult to participate with them). Minimum of 8; maximum of 16. Enroll through the Hays Recreation Commission.
Place: Sterling House of Hays
- Session 5: Saturday June 30 from 1:30 – 2:30 PM
- Session 6: Saturday, July 14 from 1:30 – 2:30 PM
