One of my favorite treats is a deep tissue massage. Lugging around instruments can bring on some knots that require a little assistance to release from time to time.
Massage therapists and bodyworkers are preparing for “Everybody Deserves a Massage Week” (July 14-20, 2013).
Those of you who have had a massage know that music is often played during the process.
Have you every experienced a drum massage? It isn’t as far out an idea as many think.
Many of us are physically aware of sound vibrations when: a car passes by with the super bass in use; a band as it passes by in a parade; a pipe organ is felt in the pew; the rocking pattern of a train as it passes.
We may not be as aware of our physical response to quieter sounds. Challenge yourself to feel the sounds around you. You may find you feel certain sounds in portions of your body.
Check out this video where Christine Stevens, MT-BC of UpBeat Drum Circles explains the process.
Everybody deserves a massage – even a massage with sounds.
