Talk like a pirate day is September 19th. It can be a lit of fun to sing pirate tunes, to practice walking the plank and to practicing your pirate speak.

To speak like a pirate, check out this great translator. The page also has a link to games.
To walk the plank you can tape off an area to have people walk on/within or use a real board. Children especially love balancing on board. Hold a hand if balance or safety is an issue
To get you on a roll o’ sin’in pirate songs, here is a playlist:
Children might also enjoy The Pirate Song” by Andy Mason and “Don’t Shake Hands with a One-Eyed Pirate” by Gunnar Madsen.
Sea shanties like those found at Songs of the Sea can be another addition to your day.
Now, get to singing of pirates or walk the plank!
